SUMMARY

The Design Project Coordinator ensures projects flow as smoothly as possible from conception to final delivery. The ideal candidate has the technical expertise to effectively communicate and manage, through various platforms, design-related decisions with the project stakeholders. Decision-making and effective communication skills are imperative.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Field all emails and communications from clients, vendors, contractors, subcontractors, and all other project affiliates, and facilitate call-to-action items demonstrated therein
  • Facilitate and coordinate the execution of the design team's vision
  • Essential daily interaction with the design team, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and fabricators
  • Develop proposals for potential jobs with competitive fee structures reflecting the defined scope of services for project pursuits
  • Establish and maintain project schedules, benchmarks, and timelines
  • Establish and maintain working budgets for construction projects, decorating, and furnishing projects
  • Oversee the completion of projects on time and within budget
  • Anticipate, understand, and manage client expectations
  • Motivate the project team to meet project goals through encouragement and/or course correction
  • Oversee the selection of materials, finishings, and equipment
  • Oversee administration of construction phase procedures and documentation (shop drawings/submittals, requests for information, and addenda/clarifications)
  • Oversee the development and presentation of appropriate technical solutions to project stakeholders
  • Drive the coordination of internal staff, external consultants, and other stakeholders to achieve a cohesive and collaborative project team
  • Attend and conduct presentations
  • Develop effective project directives, outlines, projections, schedules, and strategies over the course of the project
  • Oversee development and communication of appropriate project phasing
  • Manage all facets of project production in order to generate a thorough set of documents
  • Oversee the development and implementation of effective approaches to understanding and resolving technical challenges
  • Understand and apply appropriate industry standards and construction practices
  • Oversee quality assurance processes and quality control of project documents
  • Ongoing project expediting and project tracking and communication with clients and team members of project status
  • Manage project reconciliations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication and scheduling skills
  • Administrative skills and ability to manage a large team of designers
  • Familiarity with new technologies and software such as Monday and MS Office
  • Previous experience as an interior designer and/or strong knowledge of interior design fundamentals or construction industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in interior design or a closely related field (fine arts, furniture design, or product design from an art school)

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • In person/hybrid position located at the Athens, GA studio
  • Compensation based on previous experience
