The Development and Marketing Coordinator works under the direction of the Director of Development to implement the Conservancy's ongoing fundraising programs including: executing the Conservancy's fundraising campaigns, creating and maintaining records in the Conservancy's donor database, managing the recording of all gifts, and properly acknowledging each donation. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing the Conservancy's Bench Dedication Program, helping manage social media, and event recognition.


  • Fundraising (25%)

The Development and Marketing Coordinator will provide support for Conservancy fundraising initiatives, including annual appeals, project campaigns, and major gift solicitations.

  • Database Management (30%)

The Development and Marketing Coordinator will be the manager of the Conservancy's donor database (Salesforce) under the direction of the Director of Development (DOD). They will manage the daily operation of the database which tracks gift/revenue and biographical information on event attendees, volunteers, community gardeners, donors, and other constituents. Management includes all aspects of data input and output.

  • Bench Dedication Program Management (10%)

The Conservancy provides an opportunity to honor or memorialize a loved one or a significant life event by dedicating a park bench with a plaque. Proceeds from the program support the Annual Fund.

  • Social Media (25%)

Work with supervision and guidance from the Digital Marketing and Fundraising Manager, developmental team, and all departments to create and manage a calendar for posting content across all of the Conservancy's social media platforms.

  • Event Support (10%)

Working with the developmental team, draft, develop, and disseminate marketing, sponsorship, and other communications materials for all Conservancy events working within timelines.


  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with a variety of people (donors, community members, vendors, etc.)
  • Adaptive and flexible with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and a variety of demands. Ability to work well under deadlines and to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to take initiative and to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Proficiency and experience with information technology and basic accounting principles.
  • The commitment to maintain confidentiality and a high degree of accuracy in the donor records.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.


  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree combined with relevant experience or additional course work.
  • One to three years of experience in fundraising with a preference in marketing, annual giving, alumni relations, or related field.
  • Experience in managing direct mail solicitation and working in a complex database is preferred.


  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards; substantial time is spent working on a computer.
