JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client's practice focuses on interventional pain management. Acute and chronic pain management is their specialty. Everyone on the team is cross trained. This position is for someone who likes variety and is highly energetic with strong analytical skills. Communication, listening, organizational skills, taking initiative, being detailed oriented, and being adaptable are key to the success for this position. The ability to solve problems and observe others are essential. This position will be completely cross trained with all other job functions in the office. The job duties for the medical office assistant include but are not limited to the list below.


JOB DUTIES

  • Manage our in office PRP lab:
    • Collect and process/prepare blood products
    • Perform basic mathematical calculations
    • Operate centrifuge and lab equipment
    • Perform quality control, troubleshoot and maintenance procedures on lab equipment
    • Maintain equipment in proper working order and a clean work area

  • Assist with Patient Care:
    • Prepare, assist, and position patients for examinations and procedures
    • Prepare patient rooms before and after treatments (stock rooms, make beds, and prepare patient care items)
    • Clean, sterilize, and store all medical instruments
    • Maintain and track inventory of medical and exam room supplies

  • Assist Front Office:
    • Check in and check out patients according to office standards
    • Scan patient records and other confidential information as required
    • Contact insurance companies to pre certify procedures as needed
    • Prepare patients for examination
    • Schedule and confirm patient appointments
    • Maintain medical records
    • Take and record vitals and medical history of patients
    • Call in prescriptions
    • File and data entry

  • General:
    • Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
    • Perform duties as assigned and participate in cross training
    • Practicing safe work habits

SKILL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Blood draw and sterile procedure experience required
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Quality and precision focused with high degree of analytical and numerical skills
  • Identify, analyze, and solve problems
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Extremely punctual
  • Friendly, easy going, and laid back
