Our client, Hampden Clothing, a high-end, internationally recognized, women's fashion brand in downtown Charleston, SC, is searching for an Inventory Manager to oversee the Distribution Center. Check out their website.


JOB SUMMARY

The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for the success of the team and functioning of the Distribution Center. The DC Manager should communicate all relevant DC information to the Operations Manager to coordinate with the sales floor. The goal for the DC Manager is to manage the flow of inventory from the DC to the store, communicate all information to the Operations Manager, and manage priorities for the DC.


ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Success of team at the DC
    • eComm FS- all orders go out
    • approval FS- orders go out w appropriate shipping and inventory correct
    • approvals- checked in accurately, hung up, steamed, taken to store
    • new product processor- checked in accurately, hung up, steamed, taken to store, pulled for Amanda
  • All inventory at the DC
    • damages, dry cleaning
    • special orders
    • new product
    • outgoing product
    • incoming approvals
  • Manage unboxing packages and communicating with the recipient (supplies, personal items, buying team swatches or invitations, look books, business cards)
  • Communicate and manage flow of inventory to the store
  • Manage the delivery of the product to the store
    • Communicate amount of product, designer and arrival time
    • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday delivery of product to coincide with the website
    • Approval and eCommerce returns to the store daily
  • Communicate with operations manager, constant updates of inventory status
  • Manage shifting priorities among processor, approval FS, ecomm FS
  • strategizing the flow of inventory with the goal of all go backs and new product taken to and placed in adequate location to be put on the floor
    • considering the priorities of the team at the store and the flow of their day
  • cultivating an environment that praises working hard, having fun, communicating, hustling, efficiency
  • motivating the team to be more efficient
  • keeping the team on schedule and creating a routine for flow of inventory
  • role model for team, help them grow
  • relationship with Fedex and UPS, communicating needs to Ops Manager and rep
  • maintain clean and fully operational building (bathroom, sinks, doors, windows)
  • golf cart maintenance
    • clean
    • charged daily
    • zipped up daily
  • scheduling team
  • maintain adequate levels of supplies- printer ink, paper, tag paper, label paper, hangers, uline boxes, tissue paper, stickers, ribbon
  • bringing supplies over to the store upon request
  • ensuring the trash is taken out daily, cardboard pick up scheduled, cleaning scheduled, alarm system armed daily
  • ensuring wifi and printers are working properly
  • Bring eCommerce orders twice per day
  • Coordinate the DC team to Zoom with the store for the staff meeting

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The DC Manager must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and lift for 95% of the day. You must be able to use a computer and a phone. You must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
