Job Summary

The Account Coordinator will work alongside account managers to provide overall day-to-day service and support to ensure the effective execution of client objectives in public relations, marketing, and advertising campaigns. The Account Coordinator will successfully manage administrative tasks for a variety of clients, maintain the team's organization by being the keeper of monthly activity reports, weekly call agendas, and notes, monitor search engines, alerts, and social media channels to ensure all client placements and mentions are captured and interpreted, brainstorm innovative ways to create media opportunities for clients as well as gain editorial attention with evergreen angles and achieve consistent, quality media placements every month across an array of media outlets that support the client's goals and initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • providing support and assisting account managers in coordinating various integrated marketing communication activities for clients
  • developing and maintaining media relationships with editors and journalists in local, regional, national, and trade publications and developing targeted media lists through media database research
  • pitching stories to media on behalf of clients
  • assisting in writing, distributing, and monitoring news releases
  • developing and coordinating the creation and production of marketing materials
  • writing, proofreading, and editing feature stories, newsletters, and other printed materials for clients
  • assisting in coordination and execution of client events
  • writing and scheduling social media content as well as writing blogs
  • tracking and reporting on public relations and marketing activities including the impact of media relations, website traffic, social media, etc.
  • recommending ways to enhance visibility in target markets
  • participating in internal team meetings and client meetings as needed
  • assisting with administrative tasks such as coordination/distribution of client projects as well as agenda and conference report preparation


  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related field
  • 1-2 years of experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of AP style
  • Microsoft Office suite
